How to manually register bidders

Quickly register auction participants from your dashboard

You can manually register auction participants directly from your auction campaign's Bidders page in the dashboard. This gives you more flexibility and control over the bidder setup process – no need to wait for someone to register themselves. Whether you're working with an existing contact or adding a new contact, it's easy to get them ready to bid in your auction!

Adding a bidder ➕

  • Navigate to the Auction tab on your auction campaign.

  • Go to the Bidders page, located in the sub-menu on the left.

  • Click the Add Bidder button on the right side of the page.

  • Select an existing contact or create a new one. If you're entering a new contact, enter the bidder’s details. If you select an existing contact, their details will be pre-filled, and you can make edits to their bidder profile.

Bidder profiles and contact profiles are separate. Any updates you make to bidder information (like their address) won’t change the associated contact’s information.

  • Fields for registering a bidder manually include:

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Email

    • Phone

    • Shipping address (as applicable)

    • Request bidder to add payment method – A notification will be sent to the new bidder's email, requesting that they complete their registration and add a payment method.

    • Manually assign bidder ID # – Enable if a specific number is desired, and input the preferred ID manually.

    • Make anonymous – The contact's name will be hidden on the public-facing campaign page.

    • Engage Subscription statuses – These subscription settings apply to Engage messages only and do not affect system messages such as email receipts.

Some options will vary depending on your auction settings. If Require payment information & shipping address is turned on in your auction, you’ll see an option labeled Add a payment method instead of requesting it from the bidder.

  • Click Save to add the bidder, or Save and add another to continue manually adding bidders.

All bidders will receive an email prompting them to complete registration and set up their account. The additional step of adding a payment method will only happen if that is set as an auction setting.

Once you manually add bidders to your auction, they will appear in your Bidders list. If required to do so, a status icon will appear next to their name until they’ve added a payment method.

If needed, you can resend the payment method request from their bidder profile.

  • Click the three dots [...] to the right of the bidder's name in your list of bidders.

  • Select Manage bidder to open their bidder profile.

  • In the sidebar that appears, scroll to the bottom until you see Request bidder to add payment method. You can click Send request to resend the request email to the bidder. The last date that the last request was sent (either by the system when the bidder was registered or manually) will also appear here.
