Givebutter automatically emails receipts to donors. Receipts can be customized with a message that includes tax-pertinent information.

Verified 501(c)(3) nonprofits will automatically have their EIN included on donation receipts. Learn more about how to verify your nonprofit.

If the beneficiary (the final recipient of funds raised) of your fundraising campaign has 501(c)(3) non-profit status, you can optionally add tax-pertinent information to the automatically generated thank-you message, such as:

  • A statement that the organization provided no goods or services in exchange for the contribution (if that was the case)

  • A statement that the organization is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization

Pro tip: Receipts are emailed immediately after a donation is made. If a donor needs a receipt re-emailed later, follow these directions on how to resend a transaction receipt.
