Limitations ❌

While AI generators can be a valuable tool, it's important to remember that they may occasionally make errors. Always review and edit AI-generated text before using it! Additionally, there are a few known limitations to how AI-generated text works within Givebutter.

Merge fields 🧩

If your generated text includes placeholders in brackets, these will not auto-populate with information. You must replace these with real merge fields in order to populate the relevant data.

Examples of non-functional placeholders

Examples of functional, Givebutter-supported merge fields

[Recipient's Name]

{{contact.first_name}}

[Your Name]

{{account.organization_address}}

Merge fields are only supported in Engage, so if your AI-generated text includes placeholders in a campaign Story section, you won't be able to replace them with functional merge fields.

Clickable buttons πŸ”—

The AI text assistant may insert a donate button, or other call-to-action button as part of a generated response. While these buttons can be made functional, they do not include a link when generated.

To add a URL for the button, highlight the generated button text, and click the link icon to add a functioning link.
