Easily collect and store essential documents like liability waivers, sponsorship forms, branding assets, and participant content, all within your dashboard.

You can upload files directly to a contact profile or as part of the contact creation process using custom fields. Over a dozen file formats are supported, so you can conveniently upload documents, images, and spreadsheets.

Files uploaded to contact profiles during a Givebutter Plus trial will be removed after the trial has ended. Upgrade to Givebutter Plus to retain files permanently.

Supported file types πŸ“

  • Image formats:

    • jpeg – Commonly used for photos

    • png – Good for images with transparency

    • svg – Scalable vector graphics, ideal for logos and illustrations

  • Document formats:

    • pdf – Portable documents, suitable for sharing and preserving formatting

    • doc/docx – Microsoft Word documents

    • pptx – Microsoft PowerPoint presentations

    • rtf – Rich text format, supports various text styles

  • Data formats:

    • csv – Simple text format for spreadsheets and databases

    • xlsx – Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

    • text – Plain text files

Files must be under 5MB each.

Add a file to a contact profile πŸ‘€

To add a file upload directly to a contact's profile:

  • Navigate to a specific contact's page, and click on the Profile tab.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the Profile section, and you'll see Files. Click Upload to add a new file. Each file must be 5MB or under, and you can add as many files as you like.

After uploading a file, click the three dots [...] on the right side to View, Download, Rename, or Delete it.

Add a file via custom field πŸ“

You can also upload files to contacts using contact custom fields. This allows you to conveniently upload files as part of the contact creation process.

  • On your Contacts page, click the three dots [...] and select Custom fields.

  • Click New field to create a new contact custom field.

  • Select the File option, add a title and optional description. To include this field when creating a new contact, click the Show when creating a new contact toggle.

  • When you add a new contact, the option to upload a file will appear. If you add a file, it must be under 5MB.

If you want your contacts to upload their own documents or files, you can also configure a per-ticket custom field that includes a file upload. (This does not include campaign-level file uploads, ie. for a donation.)

Accessing files πŸ‘€

Files uploaded to a contact profile will be saved in the Profile tab.

Scroll down to the bottom of the Profile tab, and you'll find files saved in the Files section. Click the three dots [...] on the right side of the file you'd like to access.

  • Click View to open the file in a new browser window.

  • Click Download to download a copy of the file to your computer.

Deleting files ❌

To delete a file, click the three dots on the right side of a file, and click Delete. You cannot undo this action, so please double-check before confirming!
