Free trial 🔎
Want to give Givebutter Plus a try? Sign up for a free 30-day trial, without needing to enter payment information or credit card details. When you sign up, you'll be asked about yearly donation volume and estimated contacts. A handy countdown timer will let you know how many days are left in your trial.
Trial limitations 🙅
Data Hygiene – Limited to reviewing 100 contacts.
Outbound texting – Only enabled during trial for verified nonprofit accounts. You must apply for a 10DLC-compliant outbound number once your trial begins, which can take up to 14 days to process.
At the end of your trial, you'll be asked if you want to upgrade to Plus, and based on your number of contacts, you'll be recommended a subscription level. If you don't want to upgrade right away, no problem! You can keep using our free features, with the option to subscribe at any time.
Pricing 💸
Givebutter Plus pricing is contact-based, starting at $29 per month for under 250 contacts. What you pay is dependent on the number of contacts in your account. You can pay monthly (one month at a time) or annually (best value).

Overages 📈
Overages account for contacts over your plan limit without automatically bumping you into the next payment tier. They save you money by allowing for flexibility between payment tiers while also giving you access to the number of contacts you need.
Example: Your plan allows for 1,000 contacts, and you have a total of 1,100 contacts. The additional 100 contacts would be subject to the above overage fees.
Monthly subscribers – If you have an overage, the relevant overage charge will be added to your next bill. (ie. $129 per month + $8 overage = $137 next month)
Annual subscribers – Email notices will be sent to higher-tier plans when you are near your contact limit. If you have an overage, the relevant overage charge will be billed immediately when the overage occurs. Overage charges are pro-rated based on the number of months left in your subscription period.
You can optionally avoid overage charges by upgrading your subscription tier. If you choose to do so, you'll pay a prorated fee for the remaining time in your current billing cycle.
Billing information 💳
All Givebutter Plus billing information is securely managed and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. To access and make changes to your Givebutter Plus billing information, go to your Settings page, then under About, navigate to the Subscription and Billing option. Click Manage plan.
You'll be redirected to a Stripe portal where you can perform the following actions.
Downloading receipts 🧾
To download a receipt or invoice from a previous installment, scroll down to the Invoice History section. Click on the invoice you'd like to download, then in the resulting window, click Download invoice or Download receipt.
What's the difference? An invoice is generated when a payment is due and includes a payment link with a due date. A receipt is generated for completed payments, including a unique receipt number, and the payment method used.
Updating information ✍
At some point, you may need to update the payment or billing information related to your Givebutter Plus subscription. To update the payment method on file, click Add payment method under the Payment Method heading. You can also click the edit icon on the right side of your current payment method.
You can add multiple payment methods, such as credit or debit cards and Google Pay. It is also possible to set a default payment method.
To update your billing information, click Update information below your current billing information. This information should match the payment method you have on file.
Canceling your plan ❌
Your subscription will automatically renew under the same conditions at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annually) until it's canceled.
While you're free to cancel your Givebutter Plus subscription at any time from your dashboard, please consider contacting us! We would love to hear your feedback and assist you with any issues. If you proceed to cancel, your subscription will continue until the end of your current billing cycle.
Monthly subscribers – If you pay on the 10th of each month and cancel on the 15th, your membership will expire on the 10th of the next month.
Annual subscribers – If you pay annually on January 1st and cancel on June 1st, your membership will expire on January 1st next year.
To cancel your subscription, navigate to Settings > About, go to your Subscription & Billing tab, and click Manage plan.
In the Stripe billing portal, click the Cancel plan button and confirm on the next page.
If you decide to cancel your subscription and change your mind, you can renew at any time (up to the cancellation date) in your Stripe billing portal.
Cancelations are not immediate. You won't lose access to Givebutter Plus until the cancelation date at the end of your billing period. If you wish to close your Givebutter account entirely, you'll need to cancel your Givebutter Plus subscription or trial.
FAQ 🤔
What's the difference between Givebutter and Givebutter Plus? Is Givebutter still free?
Givebutter's base features are free to everyone. Givebutter Plus is an additive option, meaning you still have access to all of our free features, but you also get access to features made just for Plus subscribers!
Does Givebutter Plus change or remove tipping and platform fees?
No – tips and platform fees remain the same for both Givebutter and Givebutter Plus users. (Subscribing to Givebutter Plus will not remove tips from your campaign, but remember, you can disable this option at any time and swap tips for a platform fee.)
Does my account need to be a verified nonprofit to use Givebutter Plus?
No – anyone can sign up for Givebutter Plus! You do not need to be a verified nonprofit to sign up for a paid Givebutter Plus subscription. The only exception is outbound texting, which is ONLY available to Givebutter Plus accounts that are also verified nonprofits.
Do annual plans renew on an annual or month-to-month rolling basis?
Annual subscriptions renew on an annual basis, and monthly subscriptions renew on a monthly basis. You'll be billed on the same day each month or year, depending on which billing schedule you have.
Do I have to pay for Givebutter Plus if I have more than 250 contacts in my account?
No – Givebutter remains free for all, no matter how many contacts you have! The contact threshold model only applies if you're subscribed to Givebutter Plus. Plus is an additive service. You can still use Givebutter for free, and Givebutter Plus offers additional features available for a contact-based fee.

Do archived contacts count toward my Givebutter Plus tier limit? When do overages reset?
If a contact is archived before you subscribe to Plus, it won't count toward your limits. If a specific contact was over your tier limit, you'll be charged the relevant overage fee, even if you archive it later on. Overages are reset when your subscription renews, so if you have overages this term, then reduce your number of contacts to under your limit, overages will be removed when your subscription renews.
What happens when I cancel my subscription or my trial ends?
If you cancel an active subscription, or your Givebutter Plus trial ends without upgrading:
Your active workflows will be paused.
Data hygiene will stop processing, but edited records will remain.
Your SMS number (if applicable) will be de-provisioned and you will not be guaranteed the same number upon resubscribing.
Visual email templates, file uploads, reports, and workflows will no longer be accessible, but the data will be retained for 180 days. After 180 days, we do not guarantee that this data will be available.
