The donor portal is your personal home for everything you've done with an organization on Givebutter. From your portal, you can view your transactions and download receipts, manage your recurring gifts, access your event tickets, and manage your fundraising pages, all without contacting the organization.
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code, so there's no password to create or remember. Each organization has its own portal, so if you support more than one, you'll sign in to each one separately.
Wondering if you have a portal? If you've donated, bought tickets or fundraised with an organization on Givebutter, you already have one! Just sign in with the email address you used.
Accessing your portal 🔍
You can open your portal from a link in any Givebutter email, including receipts, ticket confirmations, event reminders and recurring gift notices. Links in older receipts that used to open a "manage your gift" page now take you to your portal sign-in as well.
Select the portal link in a Givebutter email, or go to the organization's portal link.
Enter the email address you used to give, buy tickets or fundraise.
Enter the 6-digit code sent to your email. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder. You can request a new code after 60 seconds.
Most links will direct you to your portal home page. (If you select the link in a recurring plan receipt, you'll be taken directly to that recurring plan's details.)
In your portal, you'll see: Transactions, Recurring plans, Events & tickets (only appears if you have tickets), and Fundraising pages. If the organization has added contact details (including email, phone, and website), you'll find them listed on your portal home page as well.
If you have an event coming up, a banner at the top of your portal will show the date of the event, with options to manage or view your event tickets.
Update your information ✍
Your profile photo, name, phone number, and user sessions are on the Sign-in & security page. To get there, click your name in the upper right corner of any portal page, then select Sign-in & security.
Edit your profile photo 📷
Click your name in the upper right corner, then select Sign-in & security.
Click Edit next to your profile photo.
Name + phone number 👤
From Sign-in & security, select your name or phone number to update it. Your email address can't be changed, because it's what connects you to your transactions and tickets. To update your email, mailing address or communication preferences, contact the organization.
Information entered in your portal is kept private, except your name and profile photo, which are shown on campaigns you're a team member on.
Ending a session 🚫
If you're ever concerned that someone else may have access to your portal, you can end any session where you're currently signed in. This is a quick way to keep your information secure, especially if you've signed in on a public or shared device.
Click on your name in the upper right corner, then select Sign-in & security.
Select End session next to any device you don't recognize or no longer use. (The device you're using now is labeled This device.)
It's a best practice to regularly review your sessions and end any that aren't in use. If you think someone else has signed in to your portal, end those sessions and contact our support team immediately.
Signing out 🚪
To sign out of the portal, click your name in the upper right corner and select Sign out.
Your transactions 🧾
Transactions lists every gift and purchase you've made with the organization, newest first, with the campaign name, date, payment method and amount. This includes:
One-time transactions
Recurring gift transactions
Ticket purchases
Auction items do not appear in your portal currently.
To view a past receipt, select the transaction. Each receipt shows your details, the amount and the tax-deductible amount, and you can click Download to save as a PDF. These are the same as the receipts sent to you by email originally.
Your recurring plans 🔄
Your recurring gifts appear automatically under Recurring plans, grouped into Active, Paused and Ended. You can change your amount or frequency, update your card, pause, or cancel your gift at any time. How to edit and manage your recurring donation →
Your event tickets 🎟️
If you've bought tickets or been assigned one, your events appear under Events & tickets. You can pull up your QR code for check-in, add your ticket to Apple Wallet, update attendee details, or assign a ticket to a guest, all without contacting the organization. How to manage your event tickets →
Fundraising pages 👨👩👦
Under Fundraising pages, you'll find fundraising pages you own or manage, split into active and past campaigns. You can edit and share your page, invite donors, or change teams. If you manage pages for more than one person, like several children, they're all under one login. How to manage your fundraising page →
FAQ 🤔
What's the difference between my donor portal and a Givebutter admin dashboard?
Your donor portal is where you manage your own activity with an organization. Portal URLs look like "my.givebutter.com/".
The admin dashboard is where an organization's admins and editors manage the organization's Givebutter account and campaigns. Dashboard URLs look like "dashboard.givebutter.com/accounts/12345", and the page has a dark sidebar on the left. If you give to or fundraise for an organization but don't work there, you'll only ever need your portal.
Do I need a Givebutter account to use the donor portal?
No. You don't need a Givebutter account or a password. You can sign in with the email address you used to give, buy tickets or fundraise, and we'll send you a one-time code each time.
I've given to more than one organization. Why don't I see all my gifts?
Each organization has its own portal, and a portal only shows your activity with that organization. To see gifts made to another organization, use the portal link in one of their Givebutter emails.
Why can't I change my password or email address?
Your portal doesn't use a password. Each time you sign in, we send a one-time code to your email instead. Your email address can't be changed because it's what connects you to your activity with the organization. To update the email address the organization has on file for you, contact them directly and ask them to update your contact information. If you've given under more than one email address, you'll need to sign in with each one to see the gifts made with it.
