How do I edit my recurring plan?

  1. Click the link at the bottom of the email receipt you received for your last charge. It doesn't need to be the most recent one, and you do not need to have a Givebutter login to manage your recurring plan. 🤗

2. This will take you to a page where you can view the details of your recurring plan. Click the EDIT PLAN button to make changes.

3. A window will pop up where you can edit your recurring donation, including:

  • amount

  • donation frequency

  • payment method

  • your contact email

  • tip and fee settings

  • plan status (Active, Paused, or Canceled)

4. Make sure to hit SAVE when you're done!

Can I link my recurring donation to my Givebutter profile?

Yes! When you are logged into Givebutter, a box will appear on the "Manage your Gift" page in the upper right corner.

  1. Click "Link your account" in this box to link this recurring plan to your Givebutter User Profile.

2. Click the LINK PLAN button to add the recurring donation to your Givebutter User Profile.

How do I update the payment method for my recurring donation from my User Profile?

On your User Profile, scroll down to the Payment Methods section. Clicking MANAGE will allow you to edit or delete the current payment method. You can also click ADD NEW to add a new payment method.

How do I get a copy of my receipt from my User Profile?

On your User Profile, navigate to the Payment History section and click VIEW RECEIPT next to the desired transaction. You can then view and download PDF receipts from your previous donations.

How do I cancel my recurring plan from my User Profile?

  1. Click MANAGE in the Recurring Payments section for the donation you'd like to update or cancel.

  2. Choose EDIT PLAN.

  3. Change the status of the plan to CANCELED.

FAQ

I don't have my most recent receipt, what should I do?

Receipts are sent to the email address you entered when you submitted your donation, and a new one is sent each time a donation processes (ie. every month.) You can use the link in any receipt from a recurring plan to manage it. It does not need to be the most recent one!


I don't have any receipts from Givebutter, how do I manage my plan?

If you didn't receive your receipt, please double-check your Spam folder, and search for emails from Givebutter. If you still can't find it, please contact us! We can provide you with a secure management link.

I'm an Admin running a Campaign, and one of my donors needs to manage their recurring plan. What should I do?

  • If the donor has their receipt, you can send them this page. The donor can edit their recurring plan themselves following the steps above.

  • If they don't have their receipt, you can follow these directions to resend a donor's receipt!

  • You can cancel a recurring plan on behalf of a donor if you head to TRACK in your left-hand menu bar. Click on RECURRING PLANS and find the donor you need to cancel, Click the three dots (...) next to their plan and choose CANCEL PLAN.
    Pro tip: Admins cannot edit other details on behalf of the donor.
