What can I raise money for? ๐Ÿ’ฐ

You can raise funds for any lawful cause that doesn't go against Givebutter's Terms of Service and content guidelines. Organizations use Givebutter to support causes ranging from homelessness prevention and medical research to school programs, athletic teams, community events, and creative projects. Individual (personal) fundraising accounts are not supported. Givebutter is built for organizations and affiliated fundraisers. Individuals can donate to campaigns, fundraise on behalf of a verified organization, or join an existing fundraiser as a team member.

FAQ ๐Ÿค”

Can international organizations use Givebutter?

International organizations can use Givebutter if they meet specific requirements, including having a US bank account. Givebutter mainly works with organizations that are based in the US or have a US presence. International donors are able to submit donations to any Givebutter campaign using their desired payment method.

Can I create an account if I don't work for an organization or nonprofit?

No. Individual fundraising is not supported on Givebutter and may result in your account being deactivated. Please review our content guidelines for common questions about specific fundraising scenarios.

I'm not affiliated with the nonprofit organization I want to raise money for. Can I still use Givebutter to fundraise for them?

It depends. If your business or organization is fundraising for a nonprofit, you can use Givebutter and add the nonprofit as your beneficiary, or collect and disburse funds independently. If you're fundraising as an individual, you'll either need to set up the nonprofit as a beneficiary or invite someone from the nonprofit organization to be a user on your account so we can confirm the connection.
