To log into Givebutter, head to our website, and click the Log in button located in the top right corner of the screen. You can also directly access the login page! If you're having trouble logging in, resetting your password is a great first step.

Resetting your password πŸ”‘

If you are logged out πŸ”’

Go to the password reset page and enter the email address you used to sign up. This will send you an email – follow the prompts to finish resetting your password.

If you are currently logged in πŸ’»

You may be asked for your current password before you can reset it. If you don't know it, you can still reset it by opening the password reset link in an incognito/private browser window.

If you get an error message 🚫

If the password reset page says, "We can't find a user with that email address," this means that there isn't an account attached to the email address you entered. It's possible that you don't have an account yet. Donating to a campaign does not automatically create an account with a login.

If you don't know which email address you used 🀷

For security purposes, we cannot verify login details – we cannot tell you which email address was used on an account. Please try entering any email addresses you use on the password reset page.

Troubleshooting login issues πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ

If you cannot sign in, please double-check that your login details are correct, and if necessary, reset your password.

If you've entered an invalid login email (the account doesn't exist) or an incorrect password, you'll get an error message on the login page that says these credentials do not match our records.

these credentials do not match our records

If you're unable to log in after double-checking your details, we recommend the following:

  • Try logging in using a different browser. (ie. Chrome or Firefox)

  • Turn off your VPN if you are using one.

  • Try a different internet connection. Switch to wifi if you're using mobile data.

  • Temporarily disable your ad blocker if you are using one.

  • Try signing in from a private/incognito browser window.

  • Clear your cookies and cache.

  • Try from a different device. If you’re on a mobile device, use a computer instead.

If you continue to have difficulties gaining access, please contact our team.

2FA issues πŸ”‘

We offer 2FA (two-factor authentication) for additional login security. If you log in from a new location, you will be required to use 2FA. You can access 2FA options on your personal profile – 2FA options are specific to your own email login. We recommend enabling 2FA as a best practice to keep your account secure.

If you share a login or access your account from multiple locations or IP addresses, this will force a 2FA login regardless of whether you've configured it. If you're having difficulty receiving 2FA codes, please contact our team.

join account

If you are trying to accept an invitation to join an account or get the message "that email is already taken," try these steps.

  • If you're not already signed in with your email address when you click Join Account, you'll see a screen that asks for new signup information β€” don't fill out this information to sign up, as you've already done this. Instead, click the Sign in button.

  • You can then click Accept Invite to join the account.

Page loading issues πŸ”„

If the site isn't loading or the formatting is wrong, ensure your ad blockers are turned off and whitelist givebutter.com and givebuttercdn.com. This can also happen if your network is blocking us (for example, a school or corporate network may have limits on which sites are allowed).
