Verifying your email βœ‰οΈ

When you create a new Givebutter account, you will automatically receive an email verification email from [email protected]. Click the Verify Email button to verify, and you'll be redirected back to your Givebutter dashboard.

It's especially important to verify your email if you are a 501(c) nonprofit. We use this information to match your profile on GuideStar and verify your nonprofit on Givebutter.

Verify your phone number ☎️

Verifying your phone number is recommended, and required for verified nonprofit accounts.

  • Select Settings in the left-hand menu bar, then About.

  • In the sub-menu, click Account Verification.

  • Make sure your phone number is correct, and then click Send text code

  • Enter the 6-digit security code that is sent to your phone into the box that says SMS Code.

FAQ πŸ€”

I deleted the verification email, or can't find it!

Not to worry! You can request a new verification email by going to your dashboard's Home tab, and clicking Verify email and phone.

I want to verify my nonprofit account. Does my email verification affect this?

Yes! To expedite nonprofit verification, please use an email address matching the website on your GuideStar profile. For example, if your website is savethebees.org, you should enter an email like [email protected]. If you do not have an email that matches your website, please see our guide on troubleshooting your nonprofit verification.

Is this phone number verification the same as the verification for Stripe Express?

No – our phone number verification is separate from Stripe's verification system. You are able to use two different phone numbers for Givebutter and Stripe if, for example, the Stripe account holder would like to use a separate phone number specific to their login.
