To celebrate the changemakers who use Givebutter to make the world a better place, we’re donating $35,000 to verified nonprofits on Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023. You can visit our website for all things Giving Tuesday, or read on for key information!

How it works 👀

  • Raise at least $500 on Giving Tuesday to be considered for a donation

  • The 20 campaigns that receive the most donations on Giving Tuesday will be given $500 each for being Givebutter’s Most Active Campaigns

  • Among those 20 campaigns, 5 will be chosen to receive $5K for being Givebutter’s Most Creative Campaigns

  • Most Active Campaigns will receive donations from Givebutter on Giving Tuesday. Most Creative Campaigns will be announced at our webinar on December 5 and receive their donations then!

Winning criteria 🏆

  • You can start accepting donations on or leading up to Giving Tuesday, but you must raise at least $500 to be considered for a donation from Givebutter.

  • The 20 Most Active Campaigns will be determined by the number of donations processed by unique donors on Givebutter on Giving Tuesday (November 28).

  • Among these 20 campaigns, the 5 Most Creative Campaigns will be selected by a panel of judges and announced LIVE during our webinar on December 7. Judges will vote based on the best use of Givebutter features, effective storytelling, active supporter engagement, and overall creativity.

We’ll be sharing top tips and best practices for making your campaign the best it can be during dedicated Office Hours throughout the month of November.

Giving Tuesday FAQ 🤔

When is Giving Tuesday 2023? What is the deadline to submit campaigns?

Giving Tuesday is November 28, 2023. To receive a donation from Givebutter, you must submit your Givebutter campaign by 11:59 PST on November 27, 2023 and raise at least $500 by 11:59 PM PST on November 28, 2023.

What types of Givebutter campaigns are eligible for a donation?

Verified nonprofits that launch a Givebutter fundraising page, fundraising event, auction, or Givebutter Widget embedded on their website are eligible.

I'm not a nonprofit. Can I still participate in Giving Tuesday?

If you aren't a verified nonprofit on Givebutter, unfortunately you won't be able to participate in the Givebutter Gives Back Giving Tuesday competition, but you can participate in other ways! We'd recommend donating to campaigns run by others, volunteering your time, or sharing campaigns on social media to contribute to the success of Giving Tuesday campaigns run by your peers.

How can I utilize Text-to-Donate for my Giving Tuesday campaign?

Follow our Text-to-Donate setup instructions for your campaign! You'll first create a unique keyword. (Get creative!) Donors will text this keyword to 53-555, and in reply, they will be sent the link to your campaign.

Can I submit multiple campaigns to the Giving Tuesday competition?
Yes! As long as all submitted campaigns meet the criteria for entry and your Givebutter account has verified nonprofit status, you can submit multiple campaigns.

Where do I submit my campaign for the Giving Tuesday competition?

Applications are now open, and you can submit your campaign at this link! Get creative with your campaign using our Giving Tuesday resources!

How are winners selected?

The 20 Most Active Campaigns will be determined by the number of donations processed by unique donors on Givebutter on Giving Tuesday (November 28). The 5 Most Creative Campaigns will be selected among the 20 Most Active Campaigns by a panel of judges and announced LIVE during our webinar on December 7. Judges will vote based on the best use of Givebutter features, effective storytelling, active supporter engagement, and overall creativity.
