When you connect with a supporter outside of Givebutter, you can manually log the event or add a note to their Contact Profile.

How to add a note to the Contact's profile

  • Log in to your Givebutter Dashboard.

  • Navigate to the TRACK tab in the left side panel of the Dashboard and click on CONTACTS below it.

  • Find the Contact, using the search bar at the top, that you'd like to add a note to.

  • Click on the Contact to open the profile.

  • There are three ways to add a note to the Contact profile:

    1. If a note doesn't already exist, select ADD NOTE + at the bottom of the left box.

  1. If a note already exists, select the (...) button next to the current note to edit or make additions.

  1. If you want to edit the Contact details and add a note at the same time, then click the (...) and then EDIT DETAILS in the corner of the left box. After that, add a Note at the bottom of the popup box.

How to log a manual call, email, or meeting to the Contact's Timeline

  • Log in to your Givebutter Dashboard.

  • Navigate to the TRACK tab in the left side panel and click on CONTACTS below it.

  • Find the Contact you'd like to add a Timeline Log to by searching in the top bar.

  • Click on the Contact to open the profile.

  • Then select ADD EVENT + above the Timeline.

  • Choose the Event Type in the dropdown, date, and add your notes.

  • Select ADD EVENT.

Managing Contact Events

Whenever a Contact interacts with your Givebutter Account, that information will automatically be added to the Timeline. This includes Engage emails and SMS, BCC'd or forwarded emails, recurring donations, imports, and ticket purchases!

  • You can select the arrow icon to the right of the event to expand the event and view the details. You can also add, edit, or delete notes after expanding the event.

  • If an event was incorrectly added to a Contact, you can also move an event to a different Contact. Click the (...) beside the event, click EDIT CONTACT. Search for a different Contact in the popup box, and reassign the event to a different Contact.
