Now using the same targeted lists you create for email, you're able to engage with your supporters by sending personalized and targeted text messages such as campaign promotion, event reminders, thank you's, and more.
Does it cost anything to claim a phone number?
Claiming and using an outbound phone number is free for users, like the rest of Givebutter's fundraising technology. These dedicated phone numbers come at a significant cost, but our platform founders generously cover the associated fees.
To claim a phone number and manage supporters' inbound responses, follow these steps:
Log in to your Givebutter Dashboard: https://dashboard.givebutter.com/
Navigate to the Engage tab in the left side panel, then into the Settings tab.
Next, click on SMS Numbers.
Use the Search feature to search by state or area code and select a number for your account.
Click Select next to the phone number you'd like to secure or scroll to the bottom and click More numbers to refresh the search.
Click Confirm to complete your number selection.
Note: Once you select a number, you won't be able to change it.
Next, add the email address of your choice to forward inbound messages to and customize the auto-responder for inbound texts.
Now you're set to send Outbound Text Blast! You'll now see the Text Message option when you click New Message.
